- Hello captain, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hello, I am Barış Çete, I was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1993, but I grew up in
Gaziantep. I graduated from Sabancı University Mechatronics Engineering and now I
am working as an engineer in our family company. Until before the pandemic, I was
working as a second pilot at AtlasGlobal. I am thinking of working as a pilot again after
the pandemic.

- How long have you been in this simulation world?

Actually, I have been in a simulation environment since 2005, but I met IVAO in 2007.
So I have been in this environment for 15 years. I can say that frequent plane travels at
an early age gave me this passion at that age. IVAO Platform has become a family for
me as I have made friends here that I will not want to lose all my life.
- You are also an airline pilot in real life, did you have the benefits of this simulation
enviroment to become a pilot?

high. Thanks to IVAO, you have the opportunity to start 5-0, not even 1-0, compared to
other pilot candidates in the flight school. Apart from the theoretical part of the work,
there is also a practical part, unfortunately, since we cannot fully feel this feeling in
the simulator environment, you may have to think as if you are starting from scratch.
This is necessary so that you do not lose too much complacency and situational
awareness. After all, there is no limit to knowledge and you continue to learn every

time you take a flight, real or virtual. However, since I have experienced this

seriousness in the IVAO environment for years, I take my real life flights with the same
seriousness.
- Could you share an important moment or funny moment that comes to your mind
happened online?
When I first entered the IVAO Environment, the exams were quite challenging due to
my lack of flight experience, and the attention factor was also very important when
testing the skills of the exam candidates. That's why I witnessed elephants and
giraffes being reported on the runway, especially during my ATC exams, it was a
moment for me when I lost my concentration and just laughed.
- What would you recommend to new friends entering the Ivao environment?

Considering the mission of IVAO Environment aiming at realism, it will be my most
important wish that newcomers act accordingly. This platform should not be thought
of as a game lobby, if we have members who love aviation and aim to make it a
profession like me in the future, as I mentioned above, start every flight as if you were
learning something. Fly one step ahead of the plane and plan your next move, and I
am sure that you will get very good results when this is reflected in your daily life.
Make it easier for other pilots and ATC friends who practice the same hobby as you. If
