-Gökhan, can you introduce yourself to us?

Hello everyone. I'm Gökhan Peker. I was born in Konya, 32 years old, married and father
of two children. In 2009, I graduated from Kocaeli University, Deck Associate Degree.
Then, I graduated from the Open Education Faculty, Department of Economics. I
started working as an Inspection Officer in Sinop Port Authority in 2011 and I still carry
out this duty. I enjoy working in the maritime industry.

-How did you become a member of IVAO, for how many years are you a member?

I learned that there is such a organization on the internet in 2006. I bought the
"Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004" CD version when I was at university and I flew for
about two years offline. Towards the end of 2008, I became a member of Ivao and I
have been actively flying and opening the sector for twelve years in IVAO. For the last
two years, I have held various positions in the Training Department and now I am
serving to members of Division as the Training Department Coordinator.

Training Department of Turkey Division consisting of 5 Training Advisors, 4 Trainer and

1 Coordinator as total 11 persons. Staff members who are in charge of in Training
Department are selected among the people who are highly improved in terms of
Virtual Aviation and they are full filling their tasks inside the Department. There are
both real pilots, real trainer pilots and real student pilots inside the Department. We
as Training Department of Turkey Division hold exams to members of Division in case
of any request. After we activated the “System of Individual Training Sessions” in 2019,

we started to provide both theoretical and practical Individual ATC and Pilot training

sessions to the members of Division. We are in charge of preparing documents and
videos about ATC and Pilot Training and also we are translating and editing English
documents to Turkish for members of Division. I highly recommend to members to
send a request for training sessions and exams. As I always mention, even if they can
not be successful on exams, the easiest way of learning is the attending to training
sessions and exams.
- What are your future goals? Will you always be in this environment?

One of my primary goals in this environment is to convey existence of IVAO and

Turkey Division to all people and make them to love aviation. Also other goals of ours
as Training Department is leaving a easily accessible training legacy by preparing
qualified videos and documents about ATC and Pilot Trainings for the people and new
generations. Being in this environment is a very enjoyable hobby for me. We all have
fun and learn. Learning while having fun, having fun while learning is the most
enjoyable part of it. For now, there is no reasons for me to leaving this environment. So
